“Even to your old age I am He, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made,
and I will bear; I will carry and will save.” – Isaiah 46:4
Last week while camping, the kids several times were playing that game
where the floor was “HOT LAVA”! Of course, everyone knows that means
that you have to “move around” by jumping from couch to chair, or pillow
on the floor to the bed, etc. Well in one of those instances Rosie was
“stuck” and couldn’t find a way to navigate successfully to the other side of
the camper, as big brother had done, without stepping on to the “lava floor”
and being instantly “burned to a crisp”!! So, enter Pa to the rescue (I always
fancied myself as a cape wearing super hero… now that’s a funny thought)
so donning my “an-lava shoes” I picked Rosie up and moved her to the
safety of the bed, thereby saving her from certain and instant annihilation!
As Christians there are times when we feel absolutely “stuck.” Everywhere
we look around us there appears to be nothing but the terrifying “hot lava”
of life’s circumstance and trial. Well here’s a promise: Your God sees and
knows where you are! His hands are always ready to li9 you up. He doesn’t
need a superhero cape, or imaginary an-lava shoes, He is able to carry you
over and through whatever obstacle you face!
In high school one of my favorite bands was Kansas. They sang a song:
“Carry on my wayward son, there’ll be peace when you are done. Lay your
weary head to rest, don’t you cry no more.”
God promised Isaiah, and He promises to us that even to our old age, and all
phases in between, He “will carry and will save.” So hold your head up, look
to Him, and carry on!
In HIS Love,
Pastor Ben
